Your privacy and adblocking detection
FT reserves the right to monitor and detect use of adblockers by its users. This page explains how we protect your privacy in relation to detecting and recording the use of adblockers.
How does the FT identify the use of adblockers?
We detect the use of an adblocker by running a browser capabilities detection script each time a page is loaded. This script carries out various tests to detect the use of an adblocker, but does not make any attempt to access information already stored on your browser.
Does the FT record my use (or non-use) of an adblocker?
We may record that your browser has been identified as running (or not running) an adblocker. We may record this on our own systems and locally on your browser in accordance with our cookie policy.
This information may be used by us in accordance with our privacy policy. In particular, we may use this information to understand how the use of adblockers affects use of our website. We will not disclose this information to any third party except as set out in our privacy policy.
How can I find out more?
