FT Live Event Code of Conduct

At FT Live, we are committed to creating events that are professional, respectful, and inclusive. Whether you are attending a conference, awards ceremony or roundtable, we want every participant to feel safe, welcomed, and able to enjoy the experience.

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all event participants. It applies to all FT Live events globally, both in-person and virtual. By participating in our events, you agree to uphold the standards outlined below.

1. Our Principles

We believe in:

  • A safe, respectful and professional environment
  • Events that foster open dialogue, innovation, and learning
  • Treating each other with courtesy, dignity and respect
  • Zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or unlawful behaviour

Our events are places to exchange ideas, build relationships, and do business, all within a framework of fairness, integrity, and mutual respect.

2. Respectful Conduct

All participants are kindly asked to:

  • Behave professionally and courteously at all times
  • Refrain from offensive comments and  personal attacks on fellow participants
  • Use  language and imagery in all conversations, presentations, materials and digital communications that is appropriate to a business environment and an industry-leading event.
  • Consume alcohol responsibly and remain respectful and appropriate in all settings.

We do not tolerate:

  • Harassment in any form
  • Sexualised or discriminatory language or imagery
  • Intimidation, stalking, or unwanted sexual attention or physical contact
  • Disruption of sessions or activities
  • Sharing or distributing inappropriate or offensive content

3. Zero Tolerance for Illegal Substances

  • There is an explicit zero-tolerance policy for illegal substances. Any individual found to be in possession of or under the influence of illegal drugs will be asked to leave the event and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

4. Ethical Business Conduct

We expect all participants to:

  • Conduct business in a legal, honest, and transparent manner
  • Respect the privacy of others and only use contact details exchanged at the event for the purposes agreed upon.

Inappropriate contact through messages, photos, emails or any other communication form is unacceptable.

5. Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness any behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please contact a member of the FT Live team immediately. Our team is trained to handle such situations professionally and sensitively. You can also report any incident after the event by emailing: ftlive@ft.com.

6. Consequences of Misconduct

Anyone found in breach of this policy may:

  • Be asked to stop the behaviour immediately
  • Be removed from the event without a refund
  • Be prohibited from attending future FT Live events

We take these matters seriously to ensure that FT Live events remain welcoming, safe and respectful for all.

Thank you for helping us create a positive and inclusive environment. By attending an FT Live event, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct in addition to the terms of your agreement with us.
