We have upgraded our Portfolio Tool to improve your experience, improve the data accuracy of calculations and overall stability of the platform.
These upgrades include the following:
- Automatic reinvestments of dividends
You will no longer need to manually reinvest dividends in your portfolio as this will now happen automatically. It will still be possible to manually move dividends to a cash holding or choose to not include dividends in calculations by changing your preferences within portfolio settings.
You can now set different options on how you receive dividends for a given time period. For example, between 2012 and 2019 you may have opted to automatically reinvest your dividends, but in 2020 you decided to take your dividends as cash.
- All notes now entered in holding level
Any notes currently sitting in the transaction level will be migrated up. This will allow all notes to be entered in one place for easier tracking.
1. Click on “Manage dividends” from the Dashboard screen
2. Set up Rules by setting the Date
3. Select the desired action from the ‘Action’ Drop Down
4. Select the Account for this Action or create a new Account
5. Once done, click ‘Save Settings’
6. The new rule will be shown and list them in date order
7. To remove rule, simply click ‘Remove’ next to the rule itself
Can customers opt-out of these changes?
This is a mandatory change that allows us to keep providing in the future. The technology that powered the old version was out of date and was at risk of breaking.
What do I do if I see incorrect Portfolio Valuation resulting from automatic reinvested of dividends?
Whilst we have tried to account for how most users have set up their Portfolio Tool, some users may find that they need to update their dividend settings to more closely reflect their dividend choices.
How to use different cash accounts for dividend payments?
There is no more option to use different cash accounts for Dividend holdings. All dividends will go to the cash account set in the Dividends Management section.
How do I change my dividend setting?
You can manage their dividends settings by clicking into the portfolio, and either click the manage dividend icon or click actions and then manage dividends
