How do I choose a display name and can I change it?

You can choose any display name, as long as it doesn’t impersonate someone else or contain offensive language. Some users prefer their real names, while others opt for anonymity with a unique display name.

To avoid confusion, we recommend selecting a distinct name. If your chosen name matches another user’s, an FT administrator may contact you to request a change. Offensive names may result in a temporary ban until they are updated. Keep in mind that all comments made under your display name are linked to your FT.com account.

To change your display name, click ‘edit’ next to your current name. If the new name is available, it will be approved, and all your past comments will update accordingly.
