Welcome to the FT’s product blog – the place where you’ll find news about the changes we make to our website and our mobile products. Every week, we release new digital products or improve existing ones. We want to make sure you keep up with the changes.
The biggest change we’ve made to the site is one you can’t see because it is under the hood. We have just completed a four-year project to completely re-engineer the way our website is built and published to the Web. It would take a book to talk about all the whole project, but the end result is:
In reality, you will still see some pages in the “old” style white background for a while, until we complete the migration of all that content to the new platform. All new articles and new sections will be completely run off our new platform.
We hope our new help section will help you uncover the wealth of content, tools and services we have available on FT.com. We have included instructional videos and Q&As on all our key tools and services. As we add new products or change existing ones, we’ll update this section. So, watch for improvements in the coming weeks and months. And please let us know what you think about the section.
Want to find the latest US employment figures, Japanese GDP or UK retail trade figures? FT’s new economic calendar is the answer. It is a simple interactive calendar where you can find economic reports and events from around the globe. It includes forecasts and actuals.
India now has a special edition of the FT’s Web App available on the iPad and iPhone. The app features tailored Financial Times content covering the latest Indian and international business news and analysis. The app has also been customised to highlight news from the beyondbrics blog, business education reports, the A-list commentary column, the Alphaville blog and the recently launched Luxury 360, the Financial Times’ new online hub for creative and commercial coverage of the luxury goods industry.
